
Land Acquisition Manager
Analyze and acquire real estate, both vacant land and developed lots, to support home building in Greater Houston.
Top 20 homebuilder is seeking a Land Acquisition Manager to join their team in Houston.
The Land Acquisition Manager coordinates and assists with the analysis and acquisition of real estate, both vacant land and developed lots, to provide sufficient land supply to support the homebuilding operations in Greater Houston.
Responsibilities:
Identify vacant land and developed lot opportunities in the Greater Houston Area.
Conduct analysis for prospective land deals, including researching pricing and sales activity and preparing initial financials, to determine viability.
Prepare letters of intent (LOI’s), as necessary, to establish deal terms.
Coordinate preparation of and tracking of contracts, deposit requests, and closings.
Assist in the title review and land entitlement process during feasibility prior to closing.
Manage the preparation of Competitive Market Analysis reports (CMAs) and Land Acquisition Financial reports (LAFs) as part of the prospective land deal evaluation and corporate approval process.
Maintain and develop relationships with landowners, brokers, and developers.
Monitor land and lots for sale by other builders and developers.
Target future acquisitions by analyzing market and housing trends, GIS maps, and leads provided.
Meet with sellers, brokers, engineers, planners, municipalities, and other agencies as required for each property under consideration.
Assist with special projects as requested and perform additional duties as required.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, finance, or related discipline preferred with 2-4 years of experience in real estate acquisitions or a related field.
Skills and Abilities: Excel, Word, and Power Point.
Working Conditions:
Primarily in office with some local, in market area travel.
A valid driver’s license and ability to drive to attend offsite meetings and visit land sites within the market area are required.
